Cory Allen a high level circus performer, began his journey of professional performance in 2008. There he began taking acrobatic workshops and classes with a focus in flexibility, hand balancing, and aerial hoop. After two years of intensive work, Cory was accepted into a one year apprentice program with the Circus Project, located in Portland, OR. His time spent with the Circus Project allowed him to develop his techniques and physicality in an expressive manner through training and local performance work. Following his first year apprentice program, he was accepted into a second year of training with Pendulum Aerial Arts. during the course of his extensive path of physical and artistic development, he has worked with a variety of world-class coaches. Following his training, Cory went in a different direction, focusing on independent creative work in a variety of corporate and private events. In 2012 he made the move to Texas where he began training and performing with Sky Candy Austin, while maintaining his independent work as a circus artist and model. In 2015 he was then cast as a core member in the full length production of Swings Asunder Directed by Nathan Brumbaugh. In 2016 he moved back to Portland where he was contracted as the lead intermediate and professional coach for Pendulum Aerial Arts. During his time at Pendulum, Cory co-developed curriculum for the recreational, intermediate and professional training programs, co-directed Pendulums annual spring show "Oublie" secrets of the music box and performed at several private and corporate events for the company. More recently Cory had a the great opportunity of being one of four judges at the "Project One" Aerial competition in Chihuahua, Mexico and is currently teaching and training at a non-profit circus organization "The Circus Project", while maintaining performance work for local venues in the Portland area.
