Chriselle Tidrick is an aerialist, stilt performer, dancer, choreographer, and the founder of Above and Beyond Dance in New York City. She created Above and Beyond Dance in 2007 to explore the limitless potential in the fusion of dance and circus arts work. She is a choreographer and producer of dance work, aerial work, and stilt work-- all of which function in a modern dance aesthetic. Chriselle successfully produced four seasons of circus-infused dance: Dreamscapes and Other Imaginings (2014) at The Muse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn; RAW (2011) at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center; Ascendance (2009) at The Flea Theater; and Seeking (2008) at Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts. She has appeared with her company in the New York area at venues including: Dixon Place; The Muse, Brooklyn; Output Club (Raw Artists Showcase, Brooklyn); Streb Lab for Action Mechanics; NYC Aerial Dance Festival 2011 (MMAC and LaGuardia Performing Arts Center); NYC Aerial Dance Festival 2010 (JCC Theater); Brooklyn Arts eXchange; La Mama Moves Festival 2009; Spoke the Hub; WaxWorks; and The Zipper Theater. Chriselle has presented solo aerial dance work at Dzul International Dance Festival (Campeche, Mexico) in 2019; Detroit Dance City Festival in 2017 and 2018; Harbourfront Centre (Toronto); Inwood Art Works' Culture Hub; The Deep End (Cat's Eye Cabaret); The Muse Brooklyn; Dixon Place; Streb Lab for Action Mechanics; Galapagos ArtSpace; The House of Yes; and The Belt Theater. She was a Spring 2014 Guest Artist in Dance at George Washington University where she set two sections of her aerial dance work RAW on student dancers. Her company and choreography were featured in BMC Films' short film, Eastern Winds, and she completed a dance film collaboration with director Roy Szuper entitled The Limits of Escape in 2020.
Chriselle Tidrick has performed extensively as a dancer, aerialist, and stilt dancer with companies and choreographers including: ImaginAerial; National Circus Project; Loft Opera; The Metropolitan Opera; Circus Sessions (produced by Femmes du Feu in Toronto, Canada); Jody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance; Alice Farley Dance Theater; Dances by Isadora & Catherine Gallant/DANCE; Pi Dance Theatre; Caron Eule; Mezzacappa/ Gabrian Dance Consort; AMDaT; and Mino Nicolas Dance Gallery. Chriselle can also be seen on stilts in the Disney film Enchanted, Kevin Lima, Director.
