Avi began dancing at the bright age of eighteen after being inspired by Pilobolus Dance Theater. Becoming heavily involved in the theater program at Milwaukee High School of the Arts, Avi fell in love with dance after one of his mentors encouraged him to enroll in a Jazz class. He now holds a BFA in dance from Temple University and is eager to submerge himself into the world of performing arts. With a background in competitive cross-country, gymnastics, and swim, Avi wastes very little time in developing a unique blend of athleticism and dance. Avi worked with Montréal Complétement Cirque as a featured dancer in collaboration with Anthony Venisse and Lucie Vigeneault. Avi has performed with Gunnar Montana Productions for over a year now and has performed with him for the past two years in The Philadelphia Fringe Festival and at La Mama in an off Broadway Production. Avi performs aerial straps, solo and with his partner Maria Aartim every weekend at Fabrika Cabaret in Philadelphia’s Fishtown. I’m addition, he has showcased his aerial capabilities at venues like House of Yes New York and the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts.
