Anne Arellano is a Los Angeles–based circus artist and one of the few performers in the world specializing in foot archery: drawing a bow with her feet from a handstand or a Mongolian contortion pose and hitting the target. Her signature act combines fluid hand-balancing, contortion and precision archery in a single performance that commands complete silence from an audience.
Anne began training at Le Petit Cirque in Los Angeles at age 12, studying Mongolian contortion under Otgo Waller alongside hand-balancing and aerial arts. At 13 she taught herself foot archery, and it has since become the act that has taken her to stages around the world.
Across 600+ performances and 5,000+ arrows fired, her work has spanned cruise ship productions, cabaret, variety, big-top tours and international circus festivals. She was the first foot archery act in the 15-year history of Montréal Complètement Cirque, a headliner in the International Spectacular at the Western Australia Circus Festival, and debuted the first-ever fire foot archery act at the Adelaide Fringe. Most recently she was the guest specialty act on Virgin Voyages' It's A Ship Show! aboard Valiant Lady, with 204 shows across the Caribbean and Mediterranean.
Other credits include Circus Monti's Et Voilà (Switzerland, 136 shows), Wonder at the Wonderland Spiegeltent (Adelaide) and the ensemble production Zappzarapp (Norway). Earlier highlights include the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, the Dalai Lama's Peace Summit, NBC's Little Big Shots, and three gold medals at the World Championships of Performing Arts.
Anne is also an experienced coach. She led the handstand program at Australia's Flying Fruit Fly Circus and has taught at Santa Monica Trapeze School. She moves easily between companies, creative teams, cultures and production environments.
