Mateo was born in Bogota, Colombia in 1994. The encounter with the circus it happens by chance and with few learning alternatives, for this reason, he decides at the age of 16, to travel to Mexico to enter the school of circus arts in Puebla. At this time he becomes with the history of the circus and specializes in balancing hands.
After finishing his first experience with the circus he decides to work for a year, and begins to participate with traditional and contemporary circus companies in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Colombia
Always with the desire to perfect his technique and meet other circus styles, he decides to travel to Europe to enter Cirko Vertigo circus school in Italy, where he finds the washington trapeze, the specialty that will complement his adrenaline and concentration. For two years he began to know this technique, and decided to deepen his training at the National School of Circus in France, ENARC-CNAC, where he complemented his circus technique with an artistic identity. forming part of CNAC's 23rd promotion.
Music has always accompanied him, making musical production formations and participating in the musical creation of circus shows. He has developed an artistic search integrating folkloric sounds of Colombian music with contemporary and traditional elements of the circus.
In 2019 he created the CAEC project, CAEC is an information register that contains data on schools and spaces for the formation of the Circus in different parts of the world, this center is a tool for young people who decide to study professionally the Circus arts.
