Alena Makushkina

I am a professional circus artist and aerial performer, working in the industry since 2022. My main specialisation is aerial disciplines, and I have experience performing on a variety of aerial apparatuses, including aerial silks, aerial hoop, spiral, hexagon, straps and aerial loops.

Alongside my performing career, I work as an aerial coach and choreographer, creating and staging acts for both children and adults. I also have 10 years of dance experience, which has strongly influenced my approach to aerial performance, combining technique, movement quality, musicality and storytelling.

In 2027, I will graduate from Moscow City University with a Bachelor's degree in Choreographic Art. I have also studied circus arts in France, further developing my professional skills and artistic background.

I have worked as a circus and aerial artist in Russia, the UAE and China, gaining experience in different productions and performance environments.

One of my main artistic projects is “VOPREKI”, an original aerial act that I created and perform entirely without using my hands. The act combines aerial technique, choreography and theatrical storytelling to create a distinctive and unconventional performance.

I am open to international collaborations, circus productions, shows, events and creative projects as a performer, aerial coach or choreographer.
