Lisa has and continues to spend her life devoted to the Circus. From RBBB Clown College to Super Scientific Circus to the Big Apple Circus and many opportunities in between.
There could not be a more critical time for good news. Here it is: An incredible circus rises from the ashes of the pandemic and celebrates our strengths—a circus whose core values are diversity, equity and inclusion. We are passionate about the magic of circus, passionate about assuring that all who wish have the opportunity to experience it.
This journey began many years ago with the inspiration of the Big Apple Circus. The Big Apple Circus was founded in 1977 by Paul Binder and Michael Christensen. Ten years later, as they were reaching out to underserved audiences, Paul Binder, along with circus Founding Chairman Alan Slifka, created the first ever Circus of the Senses. This core heart and desire to “bridge the access gap” and share the joy and wonder of Circus with all audiences became the backbone of the Big Apple Circus philosophy. I am deeply grateful to have served for many years with the Big Apple Circus in a variety of capacities, finally as Director of Community Programs. Thank you, Paul and Alan for your vision.
The demand has multiplied exponentially. Omnium, a bold new circus embodies this vision as we climb to even greater heights in celebration of our uniqueness as human beings. We find strength and beauty in collaboration, inspiring our audiences with the vast potential of the human spirit. Our spirits need an uplift now. We must “be the change we want to see in the world” The word Omnium is defined as: “of all and belonging to all”. Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey as we carry the dream forward, to its next incarnation...circus reimagined for our time.
Welcome to Omnium: A Bold New Circus.
