Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance

Frequent Flyers® Aerial Dance is a non-profit. Frequent Flyers® was founded by artistic director, Nancy Smith in 1988.  Our two focus areas are performance and education. We perform around the U.S. and abroad plus run a full-time school with many varied programs serving over 800 students per year. 2018 marks the company's 30th anniversary.

• 2018 is Frequent Flyers’ 30th anniversary. We are a non-profit.


• Over 200,000 people have experienced the beauty and strength of an aerial dance performance. We’ve performed for Cirque du Soleil, at the Kennedy Center, in the Bahamas, around Colorado and the US.


• More than 20,000 people have gotten their wings with us by taking a class or workshop.


• Our Kids Who Fly program for youth-at-risk has served over 8,000 kiddos since its inception in 2001.


• The international Aerial Dance Festival was the first of its kind in the world and celebrates 20 years in 2018.


• We also have the only state-certified, professional training program in the country and it’s partnership with a major university: CU Boulder’s MFA program in dance is also unique.


• We have 2 dedicated aerial studios and serve over 800 students each year with over 50 classes each week.

Fun Facts:

• We hung from the tower at Elitch amusement park, 200’ feet from the ground for the DNC party in 2008.


• We also hung from Cirque’s HQ in 2005 (60’) and again in Montreal for Cirque in 2015 at 320’ on a building downtown.


• Theatre of the Vampires has a cult following and over 20,000 people have seen the show since it’s creation in 1999. We’ll be doing some excerpts at our Masquerde Ball,  November 2 & 3, 2018 at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder.


• Our student company has performers ranging in age from 8 to 68 and performs twice each year!


• Our performance at the Kennedy Center received a standing ovation and multiple curtain calls.


• We've performed at a private party for the Denver Broncos and for other luminaries through our corporate performances.
