Description:

The Entertainment Wig & Makeup Specialist oversees all aspects of the onboard Broadway, Signature, Ice, Aqua & Parade wigs, hairpieces, hair, facial hair & makeup in all onboard show venues. This position oversees the fitting, cutting, coloring and styling of the wigs, including on-going maintenance & storage organization. Attends costumed technical runs and production meetings to revie schedules and relay any pertinent wig & makeup related information to the casts & backstage teams. Oversees the backstage areas to ensure cast wigs & makeup containers are properly returned after every show day, and these areas are kept neat & organized.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

College degree or diploma in Cosmetology.
Minimum 2-year theatrical wig experience.
Backstage wardrobe crew experience preferred.
Minimum 4 years human & synthetic hair & makeup experience including and/or technical wigs, hair and make-up knowledge, experience in ventilating human hair, wig prepping techniques and experience in theatrical stage make-up techniques.

LANGUAGE & PHYSICAL REQUIEREMENTS:

Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially.

While performing the duties of this job, the shipboard employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear, and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Extensive travel from ship to ship with varying accommodations and resting opportunities

All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency, including the lowering of lifeboats.
