LOCAL TALENT ONLY - based in or around Dexter/Ann Arbor Michigan
The Encore Musical Theatre Company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Wardrobe Supervisor to support the costume needs of our theatrical productions. This individual will work closely with the Costume Designer, Stage Management team, and volunteers to ensure the smooth execution and maintenance of all costume elements throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend the Designer Run, Technical Rehearsals (when costumes are used), Dress Rehearsals, and all performances.

Collaborate with the Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager(s) to ensure all costume pieces are available, properly prepared, and accessible to actors as needed.

Create and maintain detailed costume tracking paperwork and quick-change plots based on the costume plot and piece list provided by the Costume Designer.

Supervise volunteers and dressers, assigning costume tracks and offering support during performances.

Assist with costume fittings and alterations as needed.

Maintain the condition of all costumes during the run of the show, including:

Performing daily laundry and dry-cleaning tasks.

Monitoring and changing dress shields regularly.

Applying garment freshening sprays and providing clean undergarments to performers.

Making costume repairs as needed, and communicating more complex repairs to the Costume Designer.

Ensure performers have access to backstage essentials such as make-up remover, anti-static spray, bobby pins, wig caps, etc.

Work with the Costume Designer and Shop Manager to establish and follow a consistent garment cleaning and maintenance schedule.

Participate in costume strike after the final performance:

Assist in laundering, dry cleaning, and organizing costume pieces.

Return all costumes and accessories to proper storage.

Support the Costume Designer with strike-related duties.
