Description:DESCRIPTIONSOUND SUPERVISOR The Sound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the audio department for productions and all events at our Theater Tent. HVS is located in Garrison, NY, and operates under a unique open-air Theater Tent; more information is available at hvshakespeare.org. This position reports to the Director of Production. Responsibilities include: · Participate as a member of the Senior Production Staff. Senior Production Staff include the Lighting Supervisor, Company Manager, Wardrobe Supervisor, and are responsible for overseeing the operations at the Theater Tent. · Oversee all activities and safety of the Audio Department, including running shows and maintaining equipment for the operations of the 2025 HVS Season. · Work with the Lighting Supervisor, and Facilities Manager to oversee and execute the hang/installation and load out of the stage grid and related elements. · Maintaining audio systems, Qlab files, and back-line equipment through load-in, tech, performances, and strike. · Maintain and repair sound, communications, and video equipment owned and rented by HVS. · Work with Sound Designers and Musical Director to execute high quality designs. · Mix sound and facilitate audio needs for all events at the Theater Tent, including Octet, an 8 person musical. · Generate and maintain any paperwork for the show including written instructions, checklists, and cue lists. · Supervise and train Sound Assistant and other members of the audio department as needed. · Monitor audio supplies available for the run · Set up, power on, and strike tech table gear as required. · Coordinate with other departments such as props to execute designs as needed · Work closely with other artists to build a safe, respectful, and anti-rasict backstage environment. Display and promote multi-cultural competency and sensitivity. · Responsible for safety, upkeep, and operations of all HVS workspaces and tools under the supervision of the Director of Production, Facilities Manager. Qualifications: · Demonstrated skills and working knowledge of technical theatrical practices; experience with wireless microphones including RF coordination and safe theatrical microphone rigging. · Proficient in QLab, mixing & programming digital consoles, and digital audio distribution systems such as Dante. · Complete understanding of backstage etiquette. · Valid Drivers’ license and clean DMV record. · This position is physical in nature and required to work outdoors. The ability to climb ladders, lifts, reach above head. Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds and work outside, exposed to the elements. · This Sound Supervisor is required to be in residence in the Hudson Valley from May 26 through September 15. Housing and transportation are available. · HVS requires all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All staff will be required to implement HVS’s COVID-19 Safety Plan and follow all health and safety protocols. · The Sound Supervisor is required to be in residence in the Hudson Valley through September. Housing and transportation are provided. This is a seasonal position paid $960 per week from May 26th through September 15th. Nights and weekends are required.
