Choreographer Anthony Lo-Giudice is seeking male-identifying performers to join an outstanding cast for their upcoming production and tour of Roma.

ABOUT: ROMA is a dance theatre production that explores the notions of belonging, nationhood and cross-cultural identity, told through the semi-biographical account of Anthony’s English mother and Sicilian father. It examines our quest for someone to love and for a place to call home, entangled within the complexities of heritage, tradition, language and family.

VACANCIES:
• Performer 1 / playing age 32+
• Performer 2 / playing age 55+
Applicants who can resonate with the conceptual themes of the work are encouraged to apply. Proficient contact work is required, as well as a history of previous dance theatre employment. We are particularly interested in hearing from performers who possess additional skills (e.g., instrument playing, languages, singing, non-contemporary dance practises) though this is not essential.
EMPLOYMENT: Artists will need to be available for the following creation/tour dates:
• Creation period 1: Jul 18-29
• Creation period 2: Oct 10-21
• Creation period 3: Nov 14-17
• 8 tour dates spread from 18th Nov to 15th Dec
FEE: £550pcw (5) + £150 per performance (9)
LOCATION: The creation of this work will take place in the North-East of England and will tour across the North. We can provide support towards accommodation for artists outside of the region.
Due to location proximity and funding, applicants for this project must have the right to work in the UK.
How to apply: AUDITION: The audition will be held in Newcastle upon Tyne on 05/04/22 and will be by invitation only. We cannot provide financial support to artists attending the audition.
The application deadline will close on 29/03/22. Whilst we are a small team built up of freelancers, we will aim to notify successful applicants ASAP.
