Description of the organization
Départ d'Incendies is: The desire to bring together and unite several troupes, within a multidisciplinary festival, who have the desire to engage in a collective, human and artistic adventure – with a strong desire to experience, meeting and exchanges with festival audiences.
For its second edition, the festival wishes to work with four artistic teams, all disciplines combined (theater, dance, circus arts, concert theater, other, etc.) and give them the opportunity to perform their creations for a month in a setting professional, caring and open.
Our values:
= MUTUAL HELP and SOLIDARITY: The smooth running of the festival is entirely based on solidarity between the participating troupes. As for the first edition, when a team is performing, it is the other teams of the festival who manage the place and vice versa.
= SELF-MANAGEMENT: Départ d'Incendies is made for teams who wish to perform their creations within a festival while having the desire to invest in the management of a place: welcoming the public, managing the bar/restaurant, preparing meals for spectators, ticketing, the cleanliness of the place as well as communication assistance (leafleting, social networks, etc.). All of these tasks involve everyone at the festival (technicians, directors, volunteers, actors, etc.). All driven by the same objective: the smooth running of the shows, openness to the public, an important quality of welcome and the creation of a friendly and intimate space.
= GO BEYOND THE STAGE: It is essential here to share the desire to discover the art of theater in its entirety, well beyond the confines of the stage. As it is essential to understand that through this approach of self-management, mutual aid and support between the festival teams, we seek to promote a way of meeting and discovering each other differently, outside of the stage.
Départ d'Incendies is a festival without competition, without prizes, in a spirit of community and permanent school. 90% of the ticket sales from their show will be donated to the troops, 10% must be kept to manage festival costs.
Description ad
Reception location: at the Théâtre du Soleil.
For this second edition, the festival will have the chance to once again take over the rehearsal space of the Théâtre du Soleil within the Cartoucherie de Vincennes.
Playing space:
= an interior space:
capacity: 110 places
board dimensions: Opening from wall to wall: 14.50m // Depth: 11.3m and 9.5m with 1.80m obligatory for the passage of the public // Height tie rods: from 4.05m
= outdoor space(s)*: as in the previous edition, we can consider outdoor performances on a restricted part of the Cartoucherie parking lot.
* We are open to all proposals. However, at present we cannot guarantee this reception space, as this will depend on the proposed project as well as its technical conditions. All these parameters must be thought through and designed in connection with the Théâtre du Soleil and with all the theaters and establishments of La Cartoucherie.
Number of teams sought: 4 teams
Number of dates per team proposed within the festival: 7 performances spread over a month
Dates: From July 28 to October 10, 2025
11 weeks of reception* in total including:
= Preparation of the venue + rehearsals (6 weeks): from July 28 to September 5, 2025 (each troupe will have seven days of rehearsals in the performance space)
= The festival (4 weeks): from September 6 to October 5, 2025 (each troupe will have 7 performances each, spread over four weeks)
= Closing of the festival, tidying up of the venue (1 week): from October 7 to October 10
* It is important to specify that, even if all teams must commit to participating in the management location, not everyone will be mobilized at the same time or every day. The idea is to fairly distribute festival tasks among all festival people/teams.
For whom **:
Open to everyone and to all types of artistic disciplines (theater, dance, circus arts, concert theater, other, etc.).
Open to all teams sensitive to the values of sharing and solidarity that the festival promotes.
Open to all teams who understand the importance of commitment and sharing of tasks involved in self-managing a place.
Open to all teams capable of making themselves available throughout the festival, that is to say during rehearsal times and preparation of the venue before the festival, on festival dates and tidying up times at the end of the festival.
Open to all teams who wish to continue to bring their creations to life beyond the festival, with the desire to see the festival as a “departure” or a continuity to create opportunities and future prospects.
** We try to create a framework with as few constraints as possible, but it is important to specify that even if there is no obligation, the festival will pay particular attention to young teams, large teams and forms long. However, we remain open to all proposals because creativity has no limits!
