Description:Position Title: Scenic Run CrewDepartment: Scenery Position Summary The run crew is an integral part of the production team responsible for evening backstage operations. Working outdoors, the crew's tasks include moving scenery safely, on time and in a well-coordinated manner, as well as securing the scenic elements following the end of each performance. Responsibilities Pre-set scenic elements prior to performances Perform scenic shifts throughout the performance Perform responsibilities with theatrical flying (FOY) equipment and assisting performers during shows Assist with the on-going inspection of each scenic element to identify needed repairs Generate and maintain all paperwork assigned by the Crew Lead Adhere to/enforce all rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association, including Covid-19 additions Ability to work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times Maintain and keep spaces clean daily Maintain the integrity of the Scenic Design Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls especially during tech weeks Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and maintain a safe work environment Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned. Required Qualifications At least 2 years of professional work experience in a live theatrical environment as a crew member or equivalent educational experience Demonstrated knowledge of/and experience in a variety of scenic construction techniques Ability to collaborate with the scenic team to efficiently complete assigned projects Ability to maintain a professional work environment Ability to work outside in a desert climate Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete assigned tasks Working knowledge of standard scene shop tools Knowledge of rigging is a plus Welding experience is a plus Excellent organizational skills Excellent time management skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work under tight deadlines Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment Must be able to run short distances and use stairs Must be able to stand for the length of shows Ability to lift 40+ lbs Position Contract Dates: 4/14/25 - 10/25/25 Pay: $20.50/hr - $21.50/hr 2025 Shows Include: The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, Newsies Other details: Limited housing may be available at $50 per week. This position is represented by IATSE Chapter 720, but you do not have to be an IATSE member to apply.
