Description:DESCRIPTIONSeeking classically-trained opera singers for an opera pops concert at The Green Room 42 titled A Night at the Opera (*but only the songs you know!) A Night at the Opera will feature all of opera's most familiar tunes, including Habanera from Carmen, Der Hölle Rache from The Magic Flute, Nessun Dorma from Turandot, and more songs that will make the audience say “oh, I know this song from that movie!!” We will have translations of every song that’s not in English and film scenes accompanying select performances. We are seeking the following classically trained singers: COLORATURA SOPRANO VERISMO TENOR LYRIC TENOR LYRIC BARITONE BASS-BARITONE All pieces will be performed in their original languages. DATES: Three rehearsals in August, scheduled based on singers’ availability. Soundcheck/final run through August 30th 4:15-5:45 pm at The Green Room 42. Performance August 30th 7:00pm at The Green Room 42. COMPENSATION: All singers will receive $75 + high quality video footage. If ticket sales are profitable, singers will receive an additional 5% of the profits. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Please submit one to two recent recordings of any opera aria, preferably one of the ones listed above, though not required. Non-English arias preferred. Please include a performance resume as well. All are welcome to submit regardless of performance experience, age, or education level.
