Seeking non-equity singer/actors who are excellent movers/dancers for the 2026 NEXTStage Repertory Summer Season. The summer season includes THE WEDDING SINGER and MALTBY & SHIRE’S CLOSER THAN EVER.
WHEN: by appointment on Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Appointments are highly encouraged and walk-ups will be seen as time permits.
WHERE: Lackland Performing Arts Center on the campus of Centenary University located at 715 Grand Ave, Hackettstown NJ.
Video submissions are accepted; however, casting preference will be given to in-person attendees. To submit video auditions, include Your Name & CSC Summer 2026 Casting in the subject line as well as production and roles of interest in the body of the e-mail.
Interested performers should prepare 16-32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre selection. Bring clearly marked sheet music in a binder (and/or be prepared with a track, if applicable).
Those asked to dance will attend a dance call from 4:40 PM – 5:30 PM. Please wear dance-appropriate attire and bring proper footwear.
All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to attend. All roles are open.
Centenary’s NEXTStage Repertory Summer 2026 is a non-union summer stock theater with limited housing and performance stipends available.
Breakdown as follows:
THE WEDDING SINGER
The Wedding Singer features music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, a book by Chad Beguelin & Tim Herlihy and is based on the 1998 New Line Cinema film written by Tim Herlihy.
Performances for The Wedding Singer run July 9 through 19.

• Robbie Hart: Lead singer of a wedding band. Handsome and charismatic. A truly nice guy. Gender: Male | Age: 25-35 | Vocal Range: B3-C6
• Sammy: The bass player in the wedding band and one of Robbie’s best friends. Gender: Male | Age: 25-35 | Vocal Range: C4-A5
• George: The wedding band’s keyboardist and one of Robbie’s best friends. Gender: Male | Age: 25-35 | Vocal Range: C4-A5
• Julia Sullivan: Waitress. The pretty girl next door in looks and personality. Empathetic and caring. Gender: Female | Age: 25-35 | Vocal Range: G3-F5
• Holly: Julia’s cousin, very uninhibited and forward with comedic timing. Based on Madonna of the 80’s. Gender: Female | Age: 25-35 | Vocal Range: A3-E5
• Glen Guglia: Julia’s fiancé. A Wall Street broker. He is rich, shallow, and materialistic. Gender: Male | Age: 30-50 | Vocal Range: D4-B5
• Rosie: Robbie’s grandmother who raised him. Strong comedic timing. Can rap. Gender: Female | Age: 60-80 | Vocal Range: C4-C5
• Linda: Robbie’s fiancé who leaves him at the altar. Keeps Robbie around as a back-up plan. Typical 1980’s Jersey Girl. Gender: Female | Age: 20-35 | Vocal Range: A3-D5
• Other roles include Donatella, Shane McDonough, Ricky (bartender), Bar Regular, and various other featured ensemble roles.
CLOSER THAN EVER
Maltby & Shire’s Closer than Ever features music by David Shire, lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr., and conceived by Steven Scott Smith.
Performances for Maltby & Shire’s Closer Than Ever run July 30 through August 9.

• Excellent singers across various age ranges. Looking for a cast of 8: 4 female-identifying and 4 male-identifying roles.
