The Role

The National Centre for Circus Arts is recruiting for Circus Arts Assistant teachers to work on our Learning & Participation and Recreational programme areas.

Main responsibilities

Teaching assisting at the National Circus involves lots of collaboration with other team members (teaching and non-teaching) as well as engagement with a wide variety of participants.

As a developmental programme, the role offers an opportunity to work under the guidance of knowledgeable teachers, gaining valuable practical experience. Assistants will support teachers, help with space set up and input into class planning meetings, all to help ensure the smooth running of the classes.

Work is usually in the form of regularly scheduled sessions during evenings and weekends, although some cover work may arise. This role is best suited to candidates that have some circus or other performing arts/ movement (e.g. dance) experience, and are keen to develop their skills.

Reports to: ​​Head of Learning and Access Programme Managers

Overall responsibility: Administrative support across various functions

Salary: ​​​£13.05 per hour (pending programme area)

Holiday Entitlement: 30 days holiday per annum, pro rata, inclusive of the eight statutory bank holiday and rising 1 day per annum up to a maximum of 35 days. You are expected to take your holiday outside of the academic term

Hours: ​​​Variable scheduled hours
