Production Manager: Merlin Entertainments Project
Job Summary
We are looking for a freelance Production Manager to deliver two immersive experiences in two of the leading theme parks in the UK. The project will see two Darkfield experiences being delivered to their site by mid-September for a live activation for the month of October.
Job Description
Production Management of one new immersive project.
Preparing plans, schedules and budgets for the remounting of the two shows.
Main production point of contact for the partner
Securing and managing a production team to implement the build remount.
Training of local staff on the ground
Maintaining the shows as they run throughout October, and responding to the partner's queries and issues.
You will be technically minded, able and interested in problem-solving new technology. You will be able to communicate clearly and thoroughly through spreadsheets, plans, schematics, bibles, reports and any other documentation and have experience in doing so. You are passionate about the work and excited to work with the DARKFIELD team.
Key Dates
20 days of Pre-production between now and 1st August 2023
Full-time from 1st August to 1st October 2023
15 days throughout October 2023.

Recruitment/Training Experience
Experience and knowledge of assessing Health and Safety
Practical problem-solving skills
A good understanding of set construction practices
A strong understanding of theatrical systems, ideally for sound-specific setups (sound and LX,).
Strong technical experience and ample use of QLab. You will have knowledge of sound, lighting and special effects.
You will be reactive and proactive in solving problems that arise.
Passion for all things related to the technical aspects of a show.
Experience in operating theatre shows.
Experience in managing teams of people, including technicians and Front of House
A people person: you must also be happy to interact with the audience.
You will be practically minded and able to work under pressure.
Job Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Management of the project as a whole and full responsibility to deliver two well managed shows on two sites.
The main point of contact for all areas related to production and operations: between partners, venues, and DARKFIELD.
Management of logistical arrangements for the productions
Create and maintain documentation and production packs to share with the team and venue, detailing Operation, Safety Packs, and RAMS.
Management of the maintenance of work: ensuring shows are frequently reviewed and are working to a high standard.
Ensuring work is presented according to DARKFIELD's specifications.
Management and training of others.
To be a proactive communicator with the creative and production team.
Management of operating and maintaining shows on the ground.
Briefing of FOH team members.
Create and complete appropriate documentation such as show reports. Keep documentation on how Google drive up to date as changes are made.
