ICCAR (International Circus Center for Artistic Research) is a new space to think on and practice circus dramaturgy in Mallorca.



In this pilot edition, ICCAR will select 12 emerging artists through an open call, looking for a balance between genders as well as that a diversity of artistic identities and geographical horizons of the chosen people.

ICCAR is a joint initiative of Roberto Magro, circus artist, dramaturge and teacher, and Circ Bover, a circus company born in Mallorca in 2005 that combines the creation of several shows with the programming of festivals and educational activities in the field of contemporary circus.



The project responds to the need to generate a continuous training space dedicated to the fundamental aspects of creating a circus show. ICCAR is, as well, a further step in Circ Bover’s work to develop the circus arts in Mallorca.



ICCAR will start its activities after the summer with the pilot edition of the Training programme for emerging circus creators: artists who want to combine their personal research with a group learning experience and develop their own practice and work from a multidisciplinary approach based on of the study of the fundamental elements of the creation of a show.



The training consists of 6 modules taught by artists and other circus and performing arts professionals from different European countries: Roberto Magro, Jean-Michel Guy, Lali Ayguadé, Natalia Pieczuro, Milan Herich, Thomas Bourreau, Claudio Stellato, Nathalie Maufroy and Peter Forman.
