Job responsibilities: -Lead team to implement lighting and sound plots as designed by Lighting Designer and Sound Designer for each production -Creation of and management of Lighting + Sound Budgets, in collaboration with Production Manager -Manage purchasing of any items needed (in-store and online shopping) -Supervise Lighting + Sound Intern through all phases of process -Provide Lighting + Sound Intern with learning opportunities on a regular basis -Maintain effective communication with Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, and Music Director (for musical only) throughout production process -Manage lighting and sound load-in and strike for each production including the instruction of best hang and focus practices with all interns -Manage general maintenance of the shop and show maintenance through the run -Attend run throughs and production meetings as required by Production Manager -Collaborate with all other department heads as each show needs -Attend to non-theatrical lighting and sound property needs - these include, but are not limited to, lighting fixtures that illuminate the grounds for patrons during performances, outdoor speakers that are used for pre-show music, etc. -Willingly assist all other departments as needed including projects related to the well being and maintenance of our property -Evening show duties are assigned as each show demands. These include helping in our patron parking lots, ushering, bartending, concessions, etc. Skills: -Ability to supervise and lead a team -Understanding of theatrical practices -Ability to collaborate with designers -Team-oriented attitude -Excellent verbal and written communication -Ability to solve problems efficiently, excellent time management skills in a fast paced environment -Knowledge of theatrical lighting + sound systems, practices, and equipment -QLab, Vectorworks, and/or Lightwright -Experience wiring and implementing +ldquo;practical+rdquo; lighting on stage -Knowledge of fly systems, rigging, counterweights, etc. -Safe use of Genie or scissor lifts, and ladders -Ability to work at heights -Ability to lift up to 75 lbs -Computer proficiency: word processing and spreadsheet skills -Bachelor's degree in a related field or commensurate experience -2+ Years professional experience in similar environment/position Additional desired skills: -Experience working with LED tape -Experience setting up an orchestra/band Staff arrival date on campus is May 17th, 2026 with the first day of work commencing on May 18th 2026. Departure date is on September 11th 2026, which is a day after the fifth show opens. (The final production closes on October 18th 2026 and the property is closed down on October 21st 2026.) The rate for this position is $775 per week. Travel stipend provided. All positions are housed on property, at no cost. Meals are provided at a cost of $95/week.
