Description:Job Description / DutiesSupervise and mentor the team of wig and make-up artists, acting as first point of contact for any feedback Attend production and staff meetings; implementing any directions and changes as needed In consultation with the Designer, understand and deliver the brief for the hair and make-up design Collaborate with Directors and Designers to develop looks that support the artistic vision Prepare, bump-in and bump-out all wigs and make-up elements associated with all OA productions Follow through on origination, update and modification of all relevant show plots and any other ad hoc changes Ensure the ongoing maintenance of the wigs including actively reporting on any changes or issues Artistic management including but not limited to, artistic hair cutting, supervision of make-up and dressing artists Qualifications / Required Skills Tertiary qualifications in hair, make-up, or a related discipline Demonstrate experience as Head of Wigs or equivalent for a minimum of 2 years Ability to collaborate and deliver for multiple stakeholders, including creative, technical, and performing teams Knowledge of the arts and entertainment sector highly valued A clear and confident communicator who has a keen eye for detail Additional Information Being Australia’s National opera company, we are committed to fostering a safe and collaborative environment for all.
