About us:
East Gymnastics is a high quality and professional recreational gymnastics club in Edgecliff, Sydney, operating for over 10 years. We have a permanent, air-conditioned gym with great equipment and are located near public transport.
Our mission is to "inspire confidence through movement by respecting and encouraging every individual". Our club embodies a blend of technical gymnastics and recreational fun. We pride ourselves on our high-quality programming and experienced coaching, and ensure every child enjoys a positive, encouraging and fun class.
About the role:
This role comprises a mix of coaching, programming, training and administration. Reporting to and working closely with the gym Manager, you will be expected to have a strong level of professionalism, initiative and an ability to work independently. You will be responsible for regularly updating our program, running formal team training workshops, training new and existing coaches, and assisting with the gym administration.
Some specific requirements of the role include:
-Develop content for and run in-house training sessions
-Provide training to new coaches and identify training gaps to up-skill all staff
-Create internal training resources and manage the Program Coordinator to produce resources
-Develop and communicate program focuses for each term for all Stages of our program
-Review current program and make changes where relevant
-Manage gymnast progression through our program and associated admin and team communication
-Take a leading role (alongside Manager) in planning and organising gym events (usually one per year), open weeks and holiday camps
Essential criteria for the role:
-Significant amount of previous gymnastics coaching experience and relevant qualifications
-A technical understanding of gymnastics progressions and how to break down skills
-A passion for working with children of all ages and abilities and a fun and engaging personality
-Excellent communication skills
-Strong computer skills across Microsoft programs
-Ability to be a team leader and work closely with 10-14 other coaches
-A commitment to being a team player
-Very good attention to detail and organisational skills
-Being able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions
-Valid Australian work visa (option to sponsor after probation period)
-Excellent spoken and written English
-Working with children check (or ability to obtain one)
