Description:
A pioneering European residency program invites contemporary circus artists and collectives to develop new artistic work by integrating audience perspectives into the creative process. This initiative, led by a collaborative consortium of European arts organizations and co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme, focuses on refining its innovative 'Feedback Loops' methodology. Selected participants will engage in three intensive 10-day international residencies in Split, Croatia; Karlsruhe, Germany; and Rotterdam, Netherlands, from November 2026 to July 2027. Projects will participate concurrently across these locations, fostering cross-cultural exchange and providing dedicated creative spaces. Artists will present works-in-progress and participate in facilitated feedback sessions with audiences, peers, and experts, essential for evolving the 'Feedback Loops' approach. The program concludes with final presentations at partner festivals between 2027 and 2028. This call is open to contemporary circus artists and small companies based in Europe (including Creative Europe countries) with projects in early or mid-stages. Applicants must be available for all residency periods and commit to the full program duration. Each selected core team member will receive a fixed grant of €3,746. Travel, accommodation, and daily expenses (per diems) will be fully covered by the project partners. Applications require a detailed project description, artistic team information (maximum three core members), a statement of motivation, and relevant video material. The application deadline is 17 June 2026. Only complete applications submitted in English through the designated online form will be considered. An international jury will evaluate applications based on artistic quality, motivation, project feasibility, and relevance to the 'Feedback Loops' methodology. Three projects will be selected, with results published by 25 July 2026. Further inquiries can be directed to the program's contact.
