We encourage members to prepare for their audition at home, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms. A waiting room is available on site.
An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.
PREPARATION
To be considered for the full season (all musicals or musicals & plays), prepare 16-bars of an up-tempo song, 16-bars of a ballad, and a 1-minute monologue. To be considered for straight plays only, prepare 2 contrasting monologues, no more than 1 minute each. Equity s contracts prohibit discrimination. • IDA B. WELLS: Black-identifying; 35-55; An activist and journalist, prominent among the Suffragists. Outspoken and seen as radical, intellectually speaks truth to power. Versatile vocalist.
• INEZ MILHOLLAND: any AAPI, First Nations, Indigenous, Latine, MENA, Multi-racial, white, or Native ethnicity; 20-35. Educated, lawyer, socialite. Glamorous and well-connected. Effortlessly charismatic. Mix/belt up to Eb5.
• RUZA WENCLAWSKA: any AAPI, First Nations, Indigenous, Latine, MENA, Multiracial, or Native ethnicity. Polish immigrant who moved to America at age 7. Speaks with a Polish accent. Labor and immigrant rights activist and former factory worker. Spirited, resourceful, blunt, and unapologetic. Versatile vocalist.
• LUCY BURNS: any AAPI, First Nations, Indigenous, Latine, MENA, Multi-racial, white, or Native ethnicity; 20-35; Alice s best friend, an activist. Supportive, thoughtful, kind, and warm. Witty and a good diffuser of tense situations. The ultimate team player. Versatile vocalist.
