Calls for projects - Artist residency for the adaptation of a show to be broadcast live online
The Haut-Richelieu SPEC, in collaboration with Culture Montérégie, is opening an artist residency for a period of 3 days for the adaptation of an existing show with the aim of making it live online. During this residency, the artist, group of artists or troupe will have the opportunity to explore and rehearse the adaptation of a show already conceived. He or she will be assisted by a professional technical team in real stage and broadcast conditions. The residency will culminate with the live web presentation of the show on the evening of January 13, 2021. The broadcast time may be changed if it is a show for young audiences. The residency will take place on January 11-12-13, 2021 at the Théâtre des Deux Rives. The availability of artist (s) on these dates is mandatory.
Submission of applications:
Complete the following form before December 13, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
The artist, artist group or troupe will have access to:
A stage and the technical equipment of the Théâtre des deux rives according to the technical specifications of the space (sound, lighting, video recording, etc.)
A professional technical team for lighting, sound, recording and broadcasting on the Web
Ticket service
A platform for live online broadcasting.
Goals :
Support the performing arts by giving them access to an environment and the equipment necessary to adapt a work for online distribution
Promote the acquisition of knowledge in the online distribution of artists from the Montérégie by providing specialized support
Encourage and propel a process of exploring the live online broadcasting of the performing arts in Montérégie
The artist will be responsible for:
transport of stage equipment and instruments
to remunerate, if necessary, its musicians, accompanists, dancers, etc ...
daily allowances and meals
to promote the distribution of the show
to pay SOCAN and GUILDE fees or other associations
Note: All box office revenues will be paid to the artist, group or troupe. SPEC will add a ticket service charge of $ 2 per ticket to cover the following costs: payment server; credit card; license to use the ticketing platform; bandwidth for webcasting.
Eligibility criteria:
We will favor a show already created and having already been broadcast
The proposed show lasts approximately 60 minutes.
The artist is already suggesting some possible modifications to the existing work.
The selected artist agrees to participate in a virtual activity to share the fruit of his experience and his learning with the cultural community of Montérégie following the event.

The artistic quality of the proposal
The potential of the show to adapt to meet the realities and specificities of online broadcasting
The relevance of the need for support for the presentation of the work
The artist's openness to adapting the work
The scope of the promotion plan proposed for the show on January 13, 2021
Targeted candidates
Artists who have at least two years of professional artistic practice.
Professional artist
The professional artist is defined as follows: declares himself a professional artist;
creates works or practices an art on his own account or offers his services, for remuneration, as creator or performer; has recognition from his peers; broadcasts or publicly performs works in places or contexts recognized by peers.
Disciplines
Circus arts (conditional on the specific features of the two-shore theater), song, dance, music, theater, storytelling.
