Job Description
For its new creation "Flash Jazz", a short musical comedy show intended for the private sector, CYL & FYL MEDIA is looking for an Assistant Choreographer.
THE PROJECT
"Flash Jazz" is a 10-minute medley composed of sung and danced numbers. It is a traveling show with an interactive dimension.
A solo singer accompanied by 6 dancers-chorus, revisits some classics from a jazz and contemporary repertoire in a jazz and cabaret atmosphere from the 40s-60s.
The choreography, simple, does not involve technical complexity but requires a fairly high degree of precision of movement. Charleston and jazz style choreography (reference: number Le Jazz Hot in Victor Victoria, The Musical Cabaret).
All artists must be versatile, because the show will include singing, dancing, and acting.
ASSISTANT CHOREOGRAPHER / CAPTAIN / SWING
MISSIONS
Repetitor: during the casting and the creative residency
You will mainly be responsible for:
Teaching the choreography and directing the diagonals during the casting
Assisting the choreographer to teach the choreographies and/or stagings during the residency
Checking that the requested artistic criteria are respected and correcting them if necessary
Assisting the choreographer in the production of video tutorials.
Assisting the choreographer overall according to his needs (staging, logistics, etc.)
Captain of the dancers and swing
The assistant choreographer will join the troupe. For future sales of the show in 2025, he will be responsible for training the dancers, and will be able to take on a role as a dancer himself.
For December, he will take on the swing function in case of unforeseen circumstances, with another dancer.
AUDITION
In Paris by appointment between November 24 and 28.
The audition will include:
a moment of improvisation in dance
an interview
a moment of improvisation in play, and singing a verse and a chorus of a song of your choice on an instrumental tape
AVAILABILITY
Fully available from November 28 to December 7.
4 days of residency in full days or half days between December 3 and 9, probably from 4 to 7.
Availability at least in part for the performance dates in case of replacement: 6 dates on December 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 during the day in the Paris region.
REMUNERATION
Rehearsals paid by the day fee 105€ gross or rehearsal service if separate slot if necessary. 7 fees assured.
If Performances: paid by the performance fee at 121€ gross.

Description of the profile sought
REQUIRED PROFILE
Strong level in jazz technique mainly.
Be able to justify 2 years of professional experience in the field of dance and / or musical comedy.
Ideally: Dancer - actor - singer from musical comedy with predominantly dance
OR
Dancers with notions of acting and singing and an ease in interpreting characters.
It is important to sing in tune: the dancers do the chorus, with certain parts in polyphony.
REQUIRED SKILLS
-have a precise and rigorous eye, in order to ensure that the movements are clean and perfectly executed.
