"Man is what he desires." – Søren Kierkegaard
The performance "VII" is a journey into the depths of the human soul and creation, a work of art rife with contradictions and doubts. The production combines circus, dance, and theater to create a spectacle that confronts myths, religion, philosophy, and personal experiences.
Set to music by Jacek Kaczmarski, a creator who constantly explored reality, the performance questions the value of human existence and our relationship with divine creation. Using expressive movement and sparse gestures, the artists reveal the contradictions and tragedies inherent in human nature.
The woman in the play takes on various forms—from mother, to seduced, to emancipated—symbolizing challenges and freedom in a patriarchal world. The male characters reveal both animal strength and a subtle, tense physicality.
“VII” is a work that engages the senses, leads through emotional extremes and invites reflection.
The clash of sin, power, love and longing creates a tense story about human weaknesses and desires, in which there is no room for indifference.
