Pavatharini KUMAR

I’m a Bharathanataym artist (Tanjore style), from Tamil Nadu, India. I am a
performer, choreographer and a teacher. I’ve completed my Masters in
Bharathanatyam at the University of Madras in the year 2023. I have a learning
experience of around 20 years and teaching experience of 5 years. My gurus are
Trissur K.R. Surendran and his daughter Smt. Sridevi Satish from Chennai, Tamil
Nadu. I have learnt Nattuvangam from guru Impana Kulkarni from Goa, India. I
also have an experience of working as a full-time dance teacher at the Velammal
NEXUS group of schools. I am the founder and director of ‘ADYA SCHOOL OF
DANCE’ which was started in the year 2023. I have personally trained around
50 -75 students. As a performer, I have been performing for the past 15 years in
and around India. I have extensive experience in dance education and freelancing,spanning various roles and responsibilities. As a Dance Teacher at Velammal Vidyalaya School (NEXUS) from June 2023 to April 2024, I trained approximately 65 students aged 6–13 in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Punjabi folk, Tamil folk, and semi-classical dances, preparing them for cultural events and competitions, where they achieved accolades like 2nd prize at the state level. I am also the Founder and Director of ADYA School of Dance (established April 2023), where I mentor students for Grade exams in affiliation with The Bridge Academy, Chennai, and am collaborating with an ASCA-certified Strength & Conditioning coach to enhance training. Additionally, since 2019, I have been freelancing as a dance trainer, event compere (in Tamil and English), scriptwriter for comperes and dance dramas, choreographer for school events, costume designer and makeup artist for performances, competitions, and functions.
