Laura Smid

I am a Scenic Artist. My three professions -Costume Designer, Actress and Drama Teacher- live, grow and work together in every creation I am involved in.

I design and build costumes for Theatre, Film and TV productions.

I am a Performing Actress, Puppeteer and Singer.

I teach Drama in English, and Direct Shows with Primary and Secondary School children.

As a Costume Designer, I count with 20 years of experience, designing and building clothes and accessories for Theatre and Audiovisuals. Context research, colour, texture and different materials fuse with my acting background, helping to create attractive and organic characters. I have also worked as assistant costume designer and costume runner, in Theatre, Film and TV.

My job as an Actress has led me to stages in Argentina and the USA, performing in Spanish and English. I have trained in singing techniques and puppetry.  My last performances can be seen in 360º immersive series “El Doble caso de Jorge Desdén”, and Storytelling-You Tube-Channel “Lady Narrator”. 

I have been a Drama Teacher in English for 17 years.

Mi pupils find and develop their acting skills playing games and working in groups, learning teamwork. I have directed more than 20 shows with children from Primary and Secondary Schools. All have been joy full and enriching experiences for every one.
