I am a social circus trainer and performer based in Perth, Western Australia. I have been practicing circus for over 23 years, getting my start with Southern Edge Arts in Albany, Western Australia. When I was 13 I had a life changing experience of travelling to Capetown South Africa to train with Zip Zap circus under the coaching of Brent Van Rensburg. I have been teaching and performing professionally for 13 years.
I completed my Bachelor of Circus Arts at the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne, Australia, specialising in Aerial Cradle and Hula Hoops.
I currently teach 11 classes a week at Cirquest Circus School. I am very passionate about teaching socially inclusive circus to young people and adults with a special interest in creating safe spaces for young Neurodivergent, Trans and Gender non-conforming people. In my classes I seek to empower people to feel joy in moving their bodies and being part of a community that is accepting and centred around trust, respect, safety and love.
When performing as a children’s circus entertainer I love to create silly characters that bring joy to big and old kids alike.
when creating original work my goal is for my art to speak to the personal experiences of people and what it means to be human. I hope that people leave feeling that their humanness is enough when they witness my work.
Circus truly is the love of my life and I am so grateful everyday that I am part of a beautiful and thriving arts community that contributes so positively to people’s lives.
