The Ideal Candidate:
Availability

Qualities
- Prompt and reliable - you plan ahead, account for travel delays/potential roadblocks to ensure you are where you need to be.
- Communicative - Solution driven, detail-attentive and organized.
- Flexible - you can see the larger picture when asked to pivot or redo something after having just finished it. Someone who vocalizes curiosities, problems and the like in the moment.
- Scrappy - the nature of this role is not necessarily glamorous. It+rsquo;s on your feet, to and from, back and forth. Comfortable and excited (preferably experience with) working outside and/or in unconventional and unique theatrical environments.

Past Experience
- Recent graduates, retired folks, mid-career designers - we are happy and excited to consider folks from all walks of life. The most important thing is not how many degrees you have or how many regional houses you have been employed at, but your passion to get down into the dirt and play, to own a project and see it all the way to the end as a scrappy member of a company.
- Strong understanding of technical operational discipline (I.e., tools, carpentry, technical rigging, load-ins, technical logistics, instruments, power draw needed, weather grading and treatments)
- Confidence in current industry software and praxis

We are Equal Opportunity Employers, who demand a diverse and inclusive work environment. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

BEFORE APPLYING, CONSIDER...
- Does the idea of being outside, under the stars, in a beautiful nature preserve excite you? In many ways, the themes of Xanadu - making and creating art - are kismet with the unique circumstances this show will be presented in.
- Xanadu is a co-production between Eric Quang Gelb and the Art Farm, and as such, is not a traditional theatrical building or organization with a shop attached and a lobby. The Art Farm seeks to produce theatre in as close to its natural environment as possible, and as such, Xanadu will be performed outdoors.
- Talent trailers, tents, power generators will be brought into our beautiful field to create a purpose-built environment for the show. Though the show won+rsquo;t perform outside in extreme weather conditions, it will not be dissimilar to the quirks and inherent nature of performing at theme parks and cruise ships.
- This is a small ensemble, a quick process, and it+rsquo;s all outside. The Art Farm at Serenbe and Eric Quang Gelb Productions are committed to fostering a safe, reasonable and transparent working environment. Do not mistake our desire for personnel with "strong work ethics" as people who are happy to be asked to do the impossible. Transparency in compensation, commitment and opportunity is at the forefront of our production model. If spending time in nature, bringing arts to other parts of the country and thinking outside the box sounds exciting to you - we+rsquo;d love to hear from you.

DATES
PRE-PRODUCTION

Pre-production will begin immediately, taking place over email and calls at mutually agreed upon dates.

As with most freelance gigs, this pre-production is built for artists who are working on other projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will maintain a baseline level of appropriate responsiveness and timeliness throughout pre-production. We are looking for candidates who will respect and not take advantage of the deadlines and flexibility we seek to provide, in consideration to the compensation and workload, and as such, not require follow-up.
