Little Island is home to three unique outdoor spaces for social gathering and live performance. We seek a Sound Supervisor to join the Artistic Programming Department to manage the sound design implementation for a variety of multi-disciplinary events and performances. An ideal Sound Supervisor will have a passion for supporting artistic needs, strong problem-solving skills, and experience serving as an A1 or Sound Designer across a wide variety of genres and disciplines. They are self-motivated and prioritize safety and hospitality in their work. This role reports directly to the Production Manager.

What You’ll Do

Work closely with the Production Manager, Associate Production Manager, and other Artistic Programming personnel to ensure the successful execution of the audio needs for a variety of eventsSupervise and train audio technicians in the preparation, load-in, execution, maintenance, and load-out of shows and events
Participate in the hiring process for seasonal audio stagehands
Implement safety protocols and monitor compliance onsite in conjunction with the Production Manager and the Associate Production Manager
Serve as production representative for site visits, load-ins, work calls, or performances as needed, including on nights and weekends, including: ensuring compliance with Little Island work rules, coordinating production activity with Little Island’s Operations team, and communicating the impact of real-time weather and technical developments to artists and other members of the Artistic Programming team
Process and implement artist riders, including stage plot creation and interpretation, equipment rental and purchase, and QLab programming
Oversee soundchecks and rehearsals, communicating with artists and stagehands to maintain Little Island standards of technical excellence
Maintain Production-related computer and iPad inventory
Collaborate with Little Island’s Education & Community Relations department to provide hands-on technical and artistic support for a variety of different events
Process and archive performance recordings
Collaborate with Assistant Production Manager and stagehands in the maintenance and organization of backstage spaces
