Description:DESCRIPTIONAmerican Repertory Ballet (www.ARBallet.org) is hiring two dressers for our annual local tour of The Nutcracker. Our production includes students ages 6-18 from Princeton Ballet School dancing alongside our professional company to form a cast of over 100 performers. The tour dates are as follows: Week of Nov. 17-22: In-studio partial dress rehearsals and dresser orientation at Princeton Ballet Studios (301 N. Harrison St, Princeton, NJ 08540) Week of Nov. 24-30: Load-in, tech, and performances at McCarter Theater Center (91 University Pl, Princeton, NJ 08540) - off on 11/27 (Thanksgiving) Dec. 4-7: Load-in, tech, and performances at Two River Theater (21 Bridge Ave, Red Bank, NJ 07701) Off Dec. 8-15 Dec. 16-21: Load-in, tech, and performances at State Theatre NJ (15 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick, NJ 08901) Job responsibilities include: - steaming/pressing garments - minor hand sewing repairs - spraying/sanitizing costumes & accessories - assisting performers with quick changes - setting dressing rooms - pulling costumes for laundry - machine sewing skills a plus (but not required) Applicants should be self-starters who can operate independently and take initiative within the responsibilities of the job. This position is just as much about working as a Wardrobe team as it is about taking care of the costumes. Pay ranges from $18 - $22 paid hourly - no overtime is anticipated with this position. This job is well-suited for early career individuals and those looking to gain backstage experience in the world of professional dance.
