Concerto Dance, an acclaimed contemporary dance ensemble, is excited to announce auditions for its highly anticipated 2026/27 performance season. The company is seeking one to two exceptionally versatile dancers to join upcoming productions. Professional dance artists with a strong background in jazz, modern, and ballet techniques are invited to apply. Ideal candidates will demonstrate profound musicality, a collaborative spirit, and expertise in both non-traditional and social dance partnering. Prior acting or theatrical experience is considered a valuable asset. Auditions will be conducted in a class format on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The specific location, either Bloomington or Minnetonka, will be announced on the company's website. Candidates should arrive prepared with a headshot and resume. Successful candidates must be available for rehearsals on Wednesday and Friday mornings at the Minnetonka studio. This is a paid opportunity, offering competitive rehearsal and performance stipends. Contracts are scheduled to run from August 21, 2026, through May 30, 2027. The performance season highlights include repertoire and new work at the Bloomington Center for the Arts on November 19-20, 2026; mixed repertoire at the Southern Theater on March 12-14, 2027; and the 'Girls in the Band' production on May 27-29, 2027. Applicants with scheduling conflicts for any listed performance dates are still encouraged to inquire, as guest contracts may be considered. For those unable to attend the in-person audition, alternative submission materials, including a resume, headshot, and a video reel showcasing modern and jazz dance along with a learned combination of the company's repertoire, may be considered upon request. While remote submissions are an option, in-person attendance is strongly preferred.
