DESCRIPTION

SEEKING Lighting Designer/Board Op for the 13th annual SOUND BITES Festival of 10-Minute Musicals produced by Theatre Now New York (www.tnny.org). Thomas Morrissey, Producing Artistic Director; Erik Schark, Managing Director.


The PSM will oversee and coordinate all 10 pieces in the festival and manage the all-day run-thru rehearsal on May 2nd, dress rehearsal on May 4th, and tech rehearsal and the event itself on Monday May 4th. Not required to be at rehearsals prior to tech but will check in regularly and schedule production meetings as needed. $750 stipend. AEA strongly preferred.


PRODUCTION: SOUND BITES 13 Festival of 10-Minute Musicals

PERFORMANCE DATE: Monday May 4th at 7pm

VENUE: Symphony Space, 95th And Broadway, NYC

DESCRIPTION: An evening of ten 10-minute musicals by ten different writing teams

CONTRACT: $750 stipend. This event is being presented as a benefit performance, and all proceeds go to Theatre Now New York’s programs that help develop new plays and musicals.

REQUIRED DATES: The Production Stage Manager must be available all day on Saturday May 2nd for a run-thru of all the pieces, and also must be available all day on Monday May 5th for tech rehearsal and the performance that evening at 7PM. Each piece rehearses on their own with their own team. The lighting designer will attend if available but not required our two production meetings with all the teams on Sunday March 22, 6-8:30pm and Sunday April 12, 6-8:30pm and a walk-thru of the theatre on Monday April 20, 11:00pm-12pm.

REQUIREMENTS: The lighting designer will discuss with the directors at the run-thru on Saturday May 2nd the lighting needs and cues of each piece and then will design and set the cues during the tech rehearsal on the day of the show on May 4th. The lighting designer will run the light board that evening for the show. This is a fast paced, on the fly design position. Must be fully proficient with an E.T.C. ION console.
