Job Description

We're looking for a Deputy Head of LX to join the company for the final few months of our very successful UK tour of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, produced by Chris Harper Productions.

Contract to start as soon as possible and run through to Sun 11 Jan 2026,, including a 6 week residency at Salford Lowry over Xmas.

Job Requirements
Deputising for the LX No 1 in the management, supervision and scheduling of members of the LX team, including local venue teams, in the absence of the LX No 1
Assist on the installation, maintenance and operation of the lighting equipment as per the Lighting Designer and LX No 1's specification and will assist in maintaining an accurate and appropriate lighting design of the production as specified by the Lighting Designer
Work collaboratively with other departments, especially stage management, to ensure smooth running of the show
To ensure daily checks are completed to ensure equipment is in working order for each performance
Ensure practical LX are kept in good condition and any battery-operated equipment is charged in good time for each performance and in a suitable safe location.
To perform the LX No 2 track for each performance.
To keep LX reference/cue sheets up to date, both in physical and digital formats
Job Responsibilities
Good knowledge of lighting systems and LED technology
Experience in working in live performance/theatre
Confident working at height
Ability to troubleshoot
Ability to adapt work in accordance with performance and venue requirements
Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
Good communication & organization skills, with good level of empathy, integrity and confidentiality.
A positive can do attitude
Calm, confident, understanding & flexible
Positive approach to equity, diversity and inclusion, with willingness to train in & develop those areas
