Job Description
We would love to meet stage managers who share our passion for creating funny, accessible, feminist work which tours to both theatres and non-theatre spaces.
'The Jane Austen Fan Club' will rehearse at Salisbury Playhouse, Forest Forge Theatre Company and Lighthouse Poole from 12-31 January 2026, before a South West tour of theatres and libraries throughout February and early March 2026.
The role is paid at a rate of £650 per week.

Job Requirements
Our ideal stage manager will have the following skills & attributes:
Essential
skilled & experienced stage manager
knowledge/experience of Qlab
driving license (preferably with access to own vehicle)
a passion for creating high quality feminist work
a willingness to embrace small-scale touring, including to non-theatre spaces
desire to create inclusive and accessible theatre
Desirable
based within 25 miles of Ringwood, Hampshire, or Salisbury, Wiltshire
love of Jane Austen's work (you don't need to have read all the books!)
experience of wraparound/access activity e.g. pre-show touch tours and post-show craft activity
Job Responsibilities
The show will tour with 3 people - 2 Performers and a Stage Manager. On tour, the stage manager will drive the car/van, manage the get-in and get-out of set/costume/sound equipment, cue/operate sound cues, cue lighting, and contribute to wraparound & access activity e.g. pre-show touch tours and post-show craft activity.
