Stage Manager required for upcoming regional tour of Naomi Denny's All The Happy Things.
Job Description
We are seeking a Stage Manager for a tour dark comedy All The Happy Things, visiting regional studio spaces.
The Stage Manager will be a key member of the production team, supporting the rehearsal process and ensuring the smooth, safe, & consistent running of performances.
The ideal candidate will be a supportive & adaptable team player with excellent communication skills, able to maintain a calm & professional presence in the rehearsal room & backstage. is highly desirable.
The dates for this production are as follows:
Rehearsals: Wednesday 18th February to Friday 6th March
Tech: Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th March in Bristol
Performances:
Bristol Old Vic: Tuesday 10th - Saturday 14th March
Birmingham Rep: 15th & 16th April
Mercury Theatre, Colchester: 21st & 22nd April
Project Arts Centre, Dublin: 27th, 28th & 29th April (tbc)
Leicester Curve: 30th April
The Nest @ Chichester Festival Theatre: 7th & 8th May
Job Requirements
Person Specification:
Required
Prior Stage Management experience in similar projects/studio venues
Highly organised & able to anticipate the needs of the production
Strong attention to detail
Experience operating QLab
Desirable
Experience with touring studio theatre
Clean driving license with the ability to drive large vehicles
Job Responsibilities
aThroughout pre-production, rehearsals, and the run, the Stage Manager will be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Operating sound & lighting via QLab
Creating, maintaining, & running the prompt script
Supporting with scheduling & coordinating rehearsals & calls in consultation with the production manager, director & producer
Attending & contributing to production meetings
Supporting on sourcing, organising, & maintaining props & rehearsal & performance materials
Noting script, blocking, & cue changes
Supporting with running of rehearsals & supporting the rehearsal room process
Managing backstage activity, scene changes, set or prop coordination & setting
Overseeing the safe, efficient, & consistent running of each performance
Acting as the central point of communication between cast, creatives, & technical team
Ideally, the SM will share van driving responsibilities with other production team members
