We’ve won four consecutive Stanley Cups in the early 1980s and are well on our way to add to that legacy. The next few years will be action-packed as we complete our world-class, state-of-the-art arena, reposition our brand in the Long Island and Metro New York markets, and prepare to reclaim the Stanley Cup. How to Make the Team Our stage managers bring exceptional communication skills and a strong work ethic. This role will focus on creative thinking, storytelling and requires that the person to be able to work collaboratively and independently to assist the entire game presentation department. This position also requires a high degree of personal integrity, timeliness, workload prioritization and exceptional problem-solving skills. Show Us You Can Attend meetings on non-game days with the director Meet with producers and directors 3 hours prior to game time to determine needs of each game’s segments, identifying production elements including props and set elements Be responsible for the running of in-game segments, including production cues, location changes, placement of props and talent location Communicate clear and concise messaging to camera operator, talent, entertainment team, director and fans/contestants Be the eyes and ears of in-game segments and camera shots Double-check all facts and details for a segment, including but not limited to: pronunciations, facts and locations What Skills You’ll Use Flexibility: Switch gears on a moment’s notice and adapt to shifting priorities Motivation: Leverage your personal skills to drive results and influence success Attentive: Strong attention to detail Communication: Able to follow directions and engage with groups of people Accountability: Take ownership of your work Conflict Resolution: Show off your problem solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment Your Equipment 2-5 years of professional experience in live entertainment stage managing Must be an effective leader and able to give clear direction Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, i.e. nights and weekends Ability to mobilize quickly and for long durations Works well under pressure Strong work ethic and personal integrity Where You’ll Go Attend all New York Islanders home games along with other team events (events can fall on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays) What’s in it for You Gaining core production and live event experience for an iconic NHL® franchise Employee discount at New York Islanders Pro Shops The Fine Print The New York Islanders are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our organization.
