Description:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our traveling circus as a Sound and Lighting Technician. No prior experience in sound or lighting is required, though familiarity with technology and a strong willingness to learn are essential. This physically demanding role involves daily setup and breakdown of circus equipment, including sound and lighting systems, and requires working extended hours in varying conditions. The circus relocates to a new site each day, necessitating constant travel.

The successful candidate will reside in shared bunkhouse accommodations with performers and crew, requiring the ability to live and work collaboratively in close quarters. This position operates on a seven-day workweek with no fixed days off, making it ideal for individuals seeking a challenging, hands-on experience while developing new skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with the daily setup, operation, and teardown of sound and lighting equipment.

- Learn and troubleshoot technical systems under guidance from experienced staff.

- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy equipment.

- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

- Collaborate effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.

Qualifications:

- Basic proficiency with technology (e.g., tools, electronics, or software) preferred but not required.

- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous manual labor.

- Adaptable, problem-solving mindset with a positive attitude.

- Ability to work and live harmoniously in shared accommodations with minimal personal commitments.

- Valid driver’s license is an asset but not mandatory.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Requirements:

This role is suited for individuals with a strong work ethic, flexibility, and a desire for an unconventional career experience. Candidates should have no significant personal obligations that would interfere with the daily travel and intensive schedule.

Favor is given to candidates with QLab, ETC EOS or other theatrical touring experience.
