Seeking physical performers/ dancers, actor-musicians & musicians to join international immersive production.
The Deal – created by Dream Awake (Amit Lahav’s second company after Gecko) – is an immersive large scale production set onboard a transformed docked 1960s cruise ship, in Shenzhen, China. Having premiered Oct 25, we are now running a rolling casting process to expand our ensemble.

Created by Amit Lahav (Artistic Director of Gecko), The Deal is an immersive, promenade-style theatre experience where audiences move through a surreal reimagining of 1920s Paris. From shop-lined streets and buzzing jazz bars to bureaucratic office floors and dreamlike corridors, this production invites you into a darkly enchanting world of ambition, love and consequence…

Join an exceptional ensemble for The Deal, a large-scale immersive theatre production in Shenzhen, China.
Physical performers: dynamic, brave, emotionally intelligent artists with strong physical theatre or contemporary dance experience. Minimum 3 years professional experience preferred.

Musicians / Actor-Musicians: high-level instrumentalists (particularly accordion, violin, cello) with strong improvisational instincts, stage presence, and collaborative spirit. Ability to sing or move physically is a plus.

Additional Information:

Contracts typically run for 12 months with our partners China Merchants Cultural Industry, full-time availability required.
We operate a rolling casting process – we review applications continuously. This first deadline is for the next cohort, but we’ll still accept applications post January.

Applicants of all nationalities and backgrounds welcome.

We are currently especially interested in hearing from physical performers and dancers aged 35+
