Description:The Role:Smarty Pants is a young woman who likes to be in charge that eventually learns to let go and play. She is bossy and wants to control everything within her environment until she comes across MJ’s hat. After much resisting, she finally gives in. She goes into a full transformation and her sense of fun and curiosity comes out as the music takes over her body. She is now in a permanent state of divine wonder, living in imagination. By the end of the story, she transformed from preppy and perfectly put together to endlessly fun and free-spirited. Requirements and Qualifications: Female Identifying Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic or Indigenous/Native American Descent Minimum age - 18 years old Background in character work and greek style stepping and or breakdancing Ability to pick up choreography Ability to perform consistently and sustain 10 shows per week Interested and qualified candidates must apply online and submit all of the following: A current resumé A current headshot and full-body shot A current demo reel and/or recent performance of ALL your applicable skills. Then, show us the character exercise til the 5:08 minute mark. After that, you can kick off the Greek style stepping choreography or breakdancing improv at the 5:09 mark and continue til the end of the song. Please make your freestyle at the end is dynamic and engaging for the audience. . If you have any strong breakdancing experience is a plus. This is also your opportunity to show off any special skills or “wow” moments. + Clean, sharp, groovy, and precise execution of the Greek style stepping choreography + Incorporate MJ style while you do the choreography and in freestyle moments + Musicality is a key component, do not rush! + Improv should be funky and energetic.
