Description:

SAN DIEGO CIRCUS CENTER is seeking an Aerial Instructor to join our coaching team.

We offer a fun, dynamic, and intensive learning environment with programs ranging from Recreational to Preparatory and ProTrack.

We are looking for an experienced coach to work with students of various ages and skill levels. Join our thriving circus community of recreational students, pre-professional, and professional artists!

The ideal candidate has training and experience coaching multiple aerial disciplines including (but not limited to) Silks, Rope, Trapeze and/or Lyra for Beginner-Intermediate-Advanced skill levels. Candidate has experience teaching dynamic movements and complex skill variations as well as pedagogy in skills progression, especially towards high level skills and release moves.

Position starts late August/early September 2024, with a minimum nine-month commitment. Must be legally able to work in the United States and willing to relocate to beautiful San Diego, if necessary.

Teaching schedule offers 15-30 hours per week of coaching our ProTrack, Preparatory, Pre-Preparatory, and Recreation students.

Preparatory and ProTrack hours are Monday-Friday between 10am and 4pm. Pre-Preparatory and Recreational Program hours are Monday-Friday, 4pm-7pm and 9:30am-1:30pm on Saturdays.

Pay rate is commensurate with skill level and experience.

Requirements:

• Ability to teach advanced elements across multiple aerial apparatus
• A safe and progression-based teaching style with strong risk management awareness
• Basic acrobatic and dance training

ASSETS:
• Experience working on act creations and artistic exploration with artists
• Fitness/conditioning coaching experience
• Performance experience is a plus but not necessary

Additional Information:

We are looking for a long-term commitment of 9-12 months. For qualified teachers outside of San Diego, short-term intensive workshops may be an option. We want to hear from you!
