Project support for the creation and distribution of a circus production
Circus Decree
Belgium, TBA

Description:
With its project support for creation and distribution, Flanders aims to create opportunities for circus artists and companies, giving them the time and space to work on a new circus creation and develop a distribution plan. The project subsidy will therefore be used to cover costs directly related to this creation and distribution process.
You can also choose to apply for a subsidy solely for the creation itself and not (yet) for the distribution itself. The budget in your application will then only include the costs of that creation. However, you must still provide an overview of the intended distribution in your substantive application. Read more about this in the frequently asked questions.
For whom
You can apply for a project grant for creation and distribution as a natural person or as a non-profit organization with a legal personality and a registered office in Flanders or Brussels. The most common legal structure is a non-profit organization, but you are also eligible if you are a municipality or cooperative that does not distribute profits. Your organization's articles of association can provide clarity on this matter.
You cannot apply for this subsidy if your organisation already receives a subsidy under the Circus Decree as a circus workshop , circus studio , circus company , circus centre , or for the organisation of a festival .
Still unsure whether your organization is eligible for a subsidy? Find the answer in our frequently asked questions .
Features and criteria
We assess a grant application for a creation and dissemination project against these quality criteria :
The profile, positioning and image of your organization, both nationally and internationally;
the artistic quality of the production;
the reach of a broad and diverse audience;
the prospects for distribution of the submitted project;
and the feasibility and concrete elaboration of your grant application in terms of financing, timing and practical organization.
How and when to apply
You can submit an application via the KIOSK web application . Use the fields in KIOSK to respond to the statutory criteria. You must also upload a (multi-year) budget as a separate document to KIOSK.
You can submit a subsidy application no later than March 1st of each year.
Project grants for creation and dissemination are awarded for a maximum period of three years . A project for which you submit a grant application on March 1st will therefore begin no earlier than January 1st of the following year and end no later than three years after the project's start.
A subsidized project can also take less time. The deadline for submitting a grant application is always March 1st of the year preceding the project's start date . For information on the project's start date , please consult the frequently asked questions .
