Description:We welcome your application for the position of Professor in Circus!Apply here: https://uniarts.varbi.com/en/what:job/jobID:389414/ We are looking for someone with the desire to lead, plan and develop the existing Master Programme in Contemporary Circus Practices and to collaborate on the development of a Master’s Programme in Directing Circus. As well as teach, conduct research and supervise at all academic levels within the expanded notion of circus practices, the person should be able to apply a critical perspective on existing norms that define the field of contemporary circus to date. Professors at Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) must have both artistic work experience as well as a deep theoretical understanding of his/her artistic field. Your work tasks also include: • Leading, planning and developing the Master Programme in Contemporary Circus Practices. • Participating in the development of, and then leading, a Master’s programme in directing circus. • Teaching and supervision of PhD students as well as MA and BA students. • Research and dissemination within your field of study. • Engage with artistic, theoretical and educational perspectives in the international field of circus arts. • Participating in the development of existing and new courses and programmes in the Circus Department. • Programme administration tasks such as scheduling, quality assurance work, employing guest teachers, coordination, student contact and budget work. • Actively contributing to the development of circus as a knowledge and research area at the University and other social development work of importance for the work at the University. • Actively participating in departmental development work and collaborating within SKH as well as with external parties, developing SKH’s courses and artistic research, and promoting integration between these fields.
