Description:
Description of the organism
Since 2006, the GONGLE group of artists, athletes, and researchers has been creating works related to popular culture for public spaces.
Our documentary performances begin with field research and proceed by editing interviews with research and music. In recent years, we have explored the theme of sport and created performances for football pitches (Le champ des tribuns - created in 2016 with NTDM - CDN Montreuil), pétanque courts (La cosmologie du cochonnet - created in 2020 with Lieux Publics - CNAREP Marseille), street workout areas (2// (DEUX BARRES) - created in 2023 with Le Parapluie - CNAREP Aurillac), swimming pools (1% artistique Seine Saint-Denis); and gaming venues (URBEX EN MULTIPLEX - created in 2021 - revived in 2024 with TJP - CDN Strasbourg).
GONGLE's activities are also structured around periods of "creative research." Between 2020 and 2024, in preparation for the Cultural Olympiad, we were commissioned by the Seine-Saint-Denis department to lead an art-sport network, and we are working with various scientific laboratories (Médialab Sciences Po Paris; UFR STAPS of Université Paris Cité; CNRS).
Some of this research, conducted with the CUESTA cultural cooperative, is part of the "Cultural Urbanism" movement. It combines art, sport, and citizen participation to inform public policy (The Field, the Player, and the Consultant - 2018, All Fields - 2022, Photo Studio - 2021, etc.). The team is composed of artists from different creative fields: theater, visual arts, and radio.
