Job Summary
New Diorama Theatre and Ephemeral Ensemble are looking for a Production Manager for their brand-new production Uprooted, opening NDT’s Autumn Season of shows in September.
Job Description
Be responsible for the planning and realisation of Uprooted and liaise with Ephemeral Ensemble and NDT, advising on and supporting their engagement at the theatre and in technical rehearsals.
Liaise with and support Ephemeral Ensemble and freelancers including Designers, Props makers, Lighting and Sound Designers engaged for the production and advise accordingly, in consultation with the Executive Producer of New Diorama.
Plan and produce production schedules, in consultation with the artistic team and to manage the efficient running of production week from fit-up through to Press Night. The dates have already been confirmed and a draft of the production schedule is available upon request.
Agree, manage and strictly control the production budget, consulting with the Executive Producer on any large purchases.
Engage and manage freelance production personnel as required.
Schedule and lead on production meetings
Produce comprehensive get out plan alongside Ephemeral Ensemble and NDT Executive Producer and ensure that personnel are assigned and accounted for in the production budget.
Costing models and advising on alternative methods of achieving designs within budgets.
Working with Executive Producer and Ephemeral Ensemble to ensure that fit ups, technical and preview periods and get outs are properly staffed and kept within allocated budgets.
Conducting risk assessments for all aspects of the physical production and ensuring the highest health and safety standards are maintained.
Ensuring CDM regulations and processes are upheld during all fit ups and technical rehearsal periods.
Liaise closely with the Stage Management and Technical operation team.
Ensure the smooth running of technical rehearsals, facilitate notes sessions after previews and action notes up until Preview 3 Tech Lock.
All other reasonable expectations of a freelance production manager.
