Description:Upswing are seeking to fill three performer roles for a UK venue tour of our circus theatre production 'Showdown' May-July 2024 (with rehearsals in April)1. A circus artist with a strong primary skill in any circus discipline and experience in group acrobatics and banquine. Must identify as Global Majority. Ideally looking for ground based skills like Cyr wheel, juggling and handstands. 2. A strong acrobatic base for group acrobatics, with experience of banquine. This role can be from any ethnic background. Please note we are not looking for duo acts. 3. A Host character: an engaging individual with a strong stage presence, an upbeat playful energy and the ability to improvise around a script. The role would suit someone with experience of compering, MC/ hosting or stand-up comedy as it requires a readiness to engage and respond to live audiences. Must identify as Global Majority. Must be available from April-July 2025 with possibility for additional dates in August. Must be a team player with a positive collaborative attitude . You will be an artist who enjoys working in a co-devising process with the rest of the creative team, made up of 6 other performers, Director Vicki Dela Amedume and writer Athena Kugblenu. The role does not have to be London-based and we will consider non-UK based performers.
