Description:
In May 2026, Circus250 will host the first-ever Grace O’Malley Festival on Achill Island. A bold new celebration in the spirit of Ireland’s Pirate Queen.
The festival (formerly Daring Dames) will feature jaw-dropping circus, incredible music, original art and a performance of our new spectacular outdoor aerial show, Grace - The Story of a Pirate Queen.
Achill Island, 22–24 May 2026
Alongside public performances, the lineup will include industry talks, networking and opportunities to connect with fellow performers, producers and programmers.
We’re now inviting circus artists to be part of it.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
Submit a finished show (20-45 mins)
We want to see your original circus, cabaret or cross-disciplinary work that feels at home in a daring, graceful festival. The work can be aerial or ground based. Fee provided.
Share a work-in-progress (max 20 mins)
Test bold, playful, challenging ideas that push gender boundaries.
Selected works in progress will be part of Daring Dames Day (Sunday 24th May).
Past favourites have included axe throwing, whip cracking, rude clowning and strong women acts.
