Are you an artist looking for space to research, experiment, and develop ideas without the pressure of a final result? Then this Open Call is for you. Within the circus sector, there is a need for space for artistic, non-outcome-oriented research. Following a successful pilot version in 2025, we are therefore further developing Research Labs. We offer you the time and space to deepen concepts, question them, and experiment. Do you have a research question that needs space to grow? We warmly invite you to apply.

From August 31st to September 20th, 2026, we bring together a maximum of seven circus artists or companies in Leuven for artistic research within circus and interdisciplinary performance. Starting from the central research theme 'space', participants explore their practice, share processes, and engage in dialogue with other makers and coaches. We create time and space for research, exchange, and reflection, without production pressure.
